Shayna Strype is a director and multimedia artist. Her handcrafted films include 'Our Mine’ and ‘Hearty Fluff’, both distributed by IBEX Puppetry. Her work has been screened at festivals internationally including Palm Springs ShortFest and Ann Arbor Film Festival and has received awards at Brooklyn Film Festival, Dumbo Film Festival and Thomas Edison Film Festival, among others. Her multimedia play Mine premiered in 2021 at Dixon Place Theater with the support of The Jim Henson Foundation. Shayna frequently collaborates with Pig Iron Theater Company and Trusty Sidekick Theater Company. She has taught at School of Visual Arts, Friends Seminary, and Mass MoCa. Shayna received her MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College.
