Shayna Strype is a Brooklyn based performer, director, puppeteer, and educator.  

Her original work has been presented at The Bushwick Starr, Dixon Place, The Tank, The Center at West Park, and Acting Manitou. Shayna was an Artist in Residence at the Object Movement Puppetry Festival in 2018 where she created an original, multimedia puppetry piece called Antrak. She makes a series with her sister called The Diaper that you can watch on youtube or on this very website under "video". Her current show, MINE, is in development and will have its world premiere at Dixon Place in April 2020. 

She has performed with David Neumann (Tough, The Tough: Redux), Trusty Sidekick Theater Co. (Gumshoe, We Are All Tourists), WATCHFACE, and Patti Bradshaw (K And The Way).  She has also collaborated with The Civilians (The End and The Beginning, They Way They Live), Pig Iron (SUPERTERRANEAN) and Ping Chong & Company (Listen to Me).


Shayna received her MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College. She is currently a drama teacher at Friends Seminary in Manhattan.
